Am I Doing It Wrong?

Your hair soap journey: the transition period

The sticky feeling that you may experience at the beginning of your hair soap journey is a natural result of the chemical reaction between the soap and the synthetic residues that remain in the hair for some time from conventional shampoo. It will take several washes to purge the hair of these residues, so the sticky feeling is, to some degree, inevitable if you are switching from a conventional shampoo.

Reasons for stickiness:

chemical residues from previous routine, incorrect method of use, using a formula not suited to your specific scalp and hair type, using a formula that is not cleansing enough for oily scalp, the reaction of the mineral content of local water supply (hard water) and soap that results in scum

You may experience soap residue in your transition if you have: hair that tangles easily, long hair, very thick hair

But don't worry, we'll help you overcome the shampoo transition period!

If you are concerned about the transition period, I suggest you start your POO FREE journey on a weekend when you are sure you won't go out! Hair soap is a little different from shampoo, and it takes a little time to adjust.

Let’s see if you have made the following mistakes!

● Beginners might not create enough lather. Be sure that you not only focus on the scalp but also the rest of the hair, as chemical residue binds to the porous ends of the hair as well as the scalp. Once the synthetic residue has been cleansed from the hair shaft, you won't need to wash the ends as thoroughly.

● Is there enough water in your hair? Some people find it difficult to create a good lather, and this is typically because there is not enough water on the hair. please keep your hair moist. Be sure that the hair is fully saturated with water before you begin lathering. Soap needs only two things to thrive: water and air!

●Some might feel that the bubbles do not foam up. This is due to dirt and chemical residue impeding the action of the soap. If this is your experience, try squeezing the bubbles from your hair by running your palms along the hair in a downward motion. Wash several times, until a smooth foam is achieved. Be sure to pay special attention to the back of the hair. You might find it helpful to wash your hair upside down, rubbing the hair soap along the back of the scalp. Rinse and repeat until you are able to easily work up a good lather.

● Bending over to wash is truly the best method of washing during the transition period (the shampoo and soaping method recommended by customers). The back of our head is where the hair is thickest, and it can be very difficult to thoroughly clean, as dirt and residue can accumulate here.

● If none of these are the reason for your trouble, then the problem might be that the formula you have chosen is not your best match. Everyone is unique, and the oils used to make soap are also unique. The proportions and ingredients vary from formula to formula. If you are having trouble finding the formula best suited to your needs, please contact us and we will be happy to help you find the right formula for your unique scalp and hair type!

You can send a message to us with the following information, and our customer service staff will determine if there is a problem with the method of use or with the formula's compatability with your particular hair type:

1. Which formula are you currently using?

2. Which area or areas do you experience clumping?

3. How often are you washing?

4. Do you comb your hair before washing?

5. What kind of lather are you able to achieve?

6. Does the foam last in the hair or does it quickly dissipate?

7. Does the foam feel too thin or even too thick?

8. What type of hair do you have and what was your previous routine?

Together we will help you to uncover your healthiest and most beautiful hair! Naturally!
